Acer E3-111-C2X0 Test and Review

With 11.6-inch display and dual core processor this notebook from Acer is one of the notebooks who can be bought with not very much money and to serve well for everyday working on internet, checking mails, facebook news and similar without making any noise.

Design 

At first look this Acer looks pretty good, not very thin, not very small, it can be placed  between middle sized notebooks. It is all made of plastic, there is no aluminum nowhere on it. It opens well, but we can't define how long smooth opening will last, that depend on how the notebook is used. Keyboard is with full size and it is like in more of the notebook from this class, the buttons are not very good when they are pressed and when you touch no matter what button and try to move left or right they moves, still this is low budget notebook.
Mousepad is average, it works with up to 4 fingers, moves normal, neither fast neither slow.

Display 

Acer installs a matte, 11.6-inch screen in the little notebook. The screen is not really convincing in terms of color reproduction either, but as we write before this is low budget notebook.

Performance 

About the performance we can't say that is bad, with Windows 7 instaled on it, this Acer works fine. When watching youtube videos and writing to your friends on facebook at the same time this Acer get along well. But if you try to open for example other browser then the processor goes to 100% usage and the ram memory is all taken. 



So listening music and comunicating with friends via internet or surfing the internet is something you can do on this notebook without having trouble at all. If you plan to play games then forget, it is not for games at all. 

Connectivity 

Despite his dimension, this Acer has 2 usb 2.0 ports and 1 usb 3.0 port for connecting usb memory, usb mouse and similar stuff. It has and card reader on the left side. Also has and HDMI port but there is no VGA port. Not having VGA port is not that bad thing because there is a lot of adapter who can turn HDMI port to a VGA port.  


The power connector is from behind so there is no cable neither left neither right from the notebook. Gigabit LAN port also from behind and that is.  Wireless reception is good, internet works well both on wireless or cable. 

Battery

When is fully charged at 100% the battery can last up to 4 hours or little more while we work on it. So fell free to watch full movie and more with one charging on the battery. If it isn't used a lot the battery can last and more than 4 hours. 

Facts 

Interesting is the fact that this notebook does not have fan for cooling and even when the processor is long period like 20 minutes on 100% usage the notebook gets warm only around the power button. Other surface on the notebook is pretty cold. Good thing is that the users will not need to clean the fan from dust to prevent overheating. Personally we don't like the fact that if you like to replace the hard disk you should open entire back plastic part.
